Vija celmins: to fix the image in memory

In 2019, The Met Breuer held an exhibition on Vija Celmins, named To fix the image in Memory. When I look at Celmins' work, I saw a strong sense of dedication and elegancy. From her fine graphite works to the night skies, everything in handled with details and preciseness. The catalog features my selection of her works and they are divided into different time periods of her life. The chapters are Early works, War, Graphite, Irvine, Ocean, Moonscape, and Night sky. All texts are taken from the Met Breuer exhibition. To echo with her preciseness, the choice of typefaces are variations of Darker Grotesque, which are thin, neutral, and defined.
